GUI Reference: Analysis: Warnings Tab

The Warnings tab of an Analysis page displays information about the warnings issued by the analysis.

Several operations can be carried out on this tab:

The Warnings tab is available for all analyses, regardless of the language or languages involved.



Navigating To

Important Note: the CodeSonar Web GUI makes extensive use of JavaScript. Make sure JavaScript is enabled in your web browser.

The Warnings tab can be reached in any of the following ways.

From Analysis: Select the Warnings tab.
From Home or Project Search Results: Click on a row in the project table to navigate to the Analysis page for the most recent CodeSonar analysis of the project (with the Warnings tab selected).
From Project or Analysis Search Results: Click on a row in the analysis table to navigate to the corresponding Analysis page (with the Warnings tab selected).
From Warning Report: Click the analysis name in the breadcrumbs.

If the Warnings tab is an establishing page for a warning browse sequence, each Warning Report page that belongs to the sequence will also provide a browse sequence navigation link to that tab.

Unless otherwise noted, navigating to an Analysis page will automatically select the Warnings tab.

Contents and Usage

The Analysis: Warnings tab contains a table describing all warnings issued by the analysis.

The available table columns are as follows. Columns displayed by default are marked with an asterisk (*).

Editing Warning Properties

The Warnings tab offers two mechanisms for editing the properties of one or more of the listed warnings.

Editing properties directly

To change the Priority, State, Finding, or Owner of a single warning:

  1. Hover over the value you want to edit to pop up a menu icon.

  2. Click the icon to display a menu of the available settings.

  3. Select a menu item to update the setting.

Navigating From

view a warning report To see the full report for any of the warnings in the table, click the corresponding line in the table. The Warning Report will belong to a browse sequence for which the originating Warnings tab is the establishing page.
