CodeSonar manual search and browse functionality.
If you are viewing this file in your hub's Web GUI, enable
JavaScript in your browser: you will also need it for GUI
functionality.
If you opened this file directly from disk, your browser may be
directly suppressing JavaScript functionality: certain browsers
perform this suppression on local files (but not files delivered by
web servers) for security reasons.

If you access the manual through the hub's Web GUI, the
functionality will not be suppressed because the hub is a web
server.

Alternatively, your browser may allow you to explicitly
disable the security setting that suppresses functionality. See
the CodeSonar
FAQ for more information.
Task: View General Information About a Project
Every project on the hub
has its own Project page
in the CodeSonar Web GUI.
In most cases, the most interesting information on this page
will be the list of analyses for the project. However, the page
also lists the user-specified project description (if any) and the
time at which the project was created.
The following permissions are required in order to view the
Project page for a given project P in the
manner described here.
The general information about a project is located on the Project page. If you know the
Project ID,
you can navigate directly to the page using its URL: http://host:port/project/project_id.html
(or https://..., if the hub is
configured to use HTTPS.)
Otherwise:
- If the CodeSonar Web GUI is not already open, open it now.
- If you have just opened the GUI, the home page will already be displayed.
Otherwise, click the CodeSonar logo in the GUI page header to
navigate to the home page.
In many cases, your project of interest will be listed in the
table in the Home page.
However, it may be listed elsewhere if the hub has been
customized with additional project tree
structure and the project is been located deeper in that
structure.
- If you expect your project to be listed on the Home page, or
you are not sure, look for its name in the table. You may need to
select all in the Visible Projects selector to make sure all
eligible projects are listed, or to use the pagination controls to
navigate through the table contents.
- Click on the line containing the project name.
- With default hub
analysis settings, the Analysis page for the most
recent analysis of the project will open.
- Click the project name in the Analysis page breadcrumbs
to navigate to the Project page.
- Otherwise, the Project page will open
directly and you will not need to perform further
navigation.
If the project is not listed on the Home page, there are two
possible explanations.
- The project is located deeper in the project tree
hierarchy.
- You do not have sufficient permissions to view the project (or
it does not actually exist, perhaps because another user has
deleted it).
Try the following technique to locate the project. If you still
cannot find it, consult your local hub administrator: perhaps the
project has been deleted, or your permissions need to be
adjusted.
On the Home page:
- Select all in the Visible Projects selector.
- Select all in the search domain/scope selector
- Enter the project name in the search text field.
If you don't know the name, or are not sure, leave the field
empty.
- Click the Search button.
CodeSonar will display the results in a Project Search
Results page.
- Locate the project in the table of results, and click on its
name.
- With default hub
analysis settings, the Analysis page for the most
recent analysis of the project will open.
- Click the project name in the Analysis page breadcrumbs
to navigate to the Project page.
- Otherwise, the Project page will open
directly and you will not need to perform further
navigation.
