If you are viewing this file in your hub's Web GUI, enable JavaScript in your browser: you will also need it for GUI functionality.

If you opened this file directly from disk, your browser may be directly suppressing JavaScript functionality: certain browsers perform this suppression on local files (but not files delivered by web servers) for security reasons.

If you access the manual through the hub's Web GUI, the functionality will not be suppressed because the hub is a web server.

Task: Change a Project Tree Name or Description

You can change the name or description of a project tree from its Project Tree page.

Permissions Required

You will need the following permissions to change the name or description for a particular project tree T.

PTREE_READ T to access the Project Tree page for T.
PTREE_WRITE T to make the change.

Note that the root project tree name and description cannot be changed (regardless of your permissions).

Changing a project tree name or description requires PTREE_WRITE permission for that project tree.

Change a Project Tree Name

To change the name for a particular project tree:

Decide on a new name.
Note that project tree names must be unique: the new name cannot be the same as the name of an existing project tree for which you have PTREE_EXISTS permission.
Navigate to the Project Tree page for the project tree whose name you want to change.
Expand the Project Tree Details section of the page, if it is not already expanded.
Click edit (next to the current name). An editing form will open, as in the example below.
Enter the new name (or edit the existing one) in the text field.
Click Save to save your changes, or Cancel to cancel the changes and close the editing form.
The Project Tree page will be redisplayed.
- If your change was successful, the page will now display the new name.
- If your change failed because your new name caused conflicts (for example, because another project tree already has that name, or because someone else tried to change the name at the same time), CodeSonar will display an error message under the page heading.

Change a Project Tree Description

The procedure for changing a project tree's description is very similar to that for changing its name. The differences are as follows.

Instead of clicking the edit link next to Project Tree, click the one next to Description.
Descriptions do not have to be unique, so your change will not fail if another project tree already has the same description.
