Enabling Checks for this warning class are enabled by default. To disable them, add the following WARNING_FILTER rule to the project configuration file.
WARNING_FILTER += discard class="Logarithm on Zero"

Triggers

CodeSonar ships with library models that allow it to recognize functions such as libm log2() that compute a logarithm. If one of these functions is called with zero in the input parameter position, a warning will be issued.

If you have created a custom library model for some function f() in terms of one of these existing models, calls to f() will also be capable of triggering Logarithm on Zero warnings.

Example

#include <math.h>

double call_log(double ind){
    double a = log(1);                          /* ok */
    double b = log(0);    /* 'Logarithm on Zero' warning issued here */
    double c = log(ind); /* EVIDENCED ONLY: 'Logarithm on Zero' warning issued here
                           * if CodeSonar has evidence that zero is passed to call_log(). */
    return a+b+c;
}
