Enabling Checks for this warning class are enabled by default. To disable them, add the following WARNING_FILTER rule to the project configuration file.
WARNING_FILTER += discard class="Raises FE_INVALID"

Triggers

CodeSonar ships with library models that allow it to recognize functions such as libm remainder() that may raise FE_INVALID. If one of these functions is called with a finite value in the numerator parameter position and zero in the denominator parameter position, a warning will be issued.

If you have created a custom library model for some function f() in terms of one of these existing models, calls to f() will also be capable of triggering Raises FE_INVALID warnings.

Example

#include <math.h>

double use_fmod(double ind){
    double a = fmod(1,1);                 /* ok */
    double b = fmod(1,0);     /* 'Raises FE_INVALID' warning issued here */
    double c = fmod(ind,0);   /* 'Raises FE_INVALID' warning issued here */
    double d = fmod(ind,ind); /* EVIDENCED ONLY: 'Raises FE_INVALID' warning issued here
                               * if CodeSonar has evidence that use_fmod() is called on a value equal to 0. */
    return a+b+c+d;
}
